Mountain House, CA: The much-anticipated trailer of Boundaries, a women-in-sports drama directed by filmmaker Kirandeep Karnati (KD) and produced under the banner of Visual Narrative Films (VNF), will premiere at the Navarasa Film Festival. The *trailer will be screened at 5:30 pm and 7:00 pm, at the film festival, at Cinemark Century at Pacific Commons and XD on October 25, 2025.
Boundaries, Breaking Barriers One Game at a Time explores the areas of gender, identity and belonging within the South Asian diaspora using the popular sport of Cricket as a lens. According to director Kirandeep Karnati, “Boundaries is a film that speaks to the heart of human resilience and the power of unity. It is a story about breaking stereotypes and redefining roles within a community.” He describes the film as a tribute to every individual who dares to dream beyond the confines of societal expectations.
This feature film was filmed by acclaimed cinematographer Unni Rav, founder of visual Narrative Films, whose vision merges the emotional depth of South Asian storytelling with the cinematic style of Hollywood productions. “Boundaries puts a spotlight on stories we don’t often see in sports films. It encourages viewers to see things from a new perspective and challenges how we view women and immigrants in sports and in society,” says Unni.
As viewers follow a determined group of women reclaiming their independence through cricket, they’ll experience a story of transformation, humor and triumph that invites everyone to questions their own limits,” is what Producer Olga Gabris has to say about Boundaries.
Boundaries, which was shot mostly in Mountain House, CA brings together an ensemble cast that comes with experience in short films, theater and Bollywood, showcasing a vibrant mix of talent from the South Asian community. The producers of this film include Bharat Kona, investor and founder of Eldorado Capital, Kazi Islam and Sumaiya Osman of ABR Lifestyle, IT professionals Lavanya Miryala, Hari Gutlapalli and Phani Nivarthi, and entrepreneur Swetha Karnati.
